I.Q. Poem by Frank James Ryan Jr...fjr

I.Q.

Rating: 4.5

Oh, for they who cannot see what's before them,
simple deductions...based on repetitive proof;
paradigms and paragons that soon become a paradox.
Read the lines...in between, stories all of them;
imaging in underlying symbolistic shelter, just as-
shibboleth will rack the brains of the I.Q. genius.

Illusion, be my abstract friend...
for, where would I be without my sense of third sight.

A Poet I am not, but that truth does not leave -
my mind opaque to a passions yen for Artistry,
the Silent Word, a chance to paint a Picasso in words.
For I am an Imagist
of stories tall and long,
stories that have nothing to do with me,
despite how some have chose to think
and place me somewhere between-
the threading's of biographical means,
as the subject, theme or principal
of any work That I may pen
in the form of the First Person,
which has never been, will never be
any less than ''Never Me''!

Nothing personal, but my work is just that.
Intellectual...? Never claimed to be that.
Intellect is merely numerical quotients,
gauged upon skills when maximized.

One need not tout a number as proof
that they're ready and able to enlighten the world.
Acumen and Wisdom are the pearls of great success,
along with commitment to tap your own best.
There be no need to place a number on your brain,
for if you do, the expectancies of you will always be
more than you expected if not more than you wanted-

like Freud and Einstein who wore weak suits themselves
and erred, just the same as those far less deft then they.
Research on the Human Brain continues to clearly prove
that hard work and good judgment is the true gauge to weigh
an individuals value to contribute and produce in many ways.
