I Ran Out Of Paper (I'm Lying Again) Poem by Dean Meredith

I Ran Out Of Paper (I'm Lying Again)

I'm ok thankyou
Private
I wish you & your family well
In the old German way

In our glorious Reich
In our golden days
When the youths were young
And the maidens full of praise

All of us
Wanting to learn more
The fear, the boots
The ice-cold winters

The how can you do this?
'Just following orders'
Not cutting it, anymore
My brothers my sisters

We cannot ever be
Genuinely segregated
Our glory from our misery
The long open days …

Our prairies and our plains
Dangers of the city
Temptations
Beyond your mind

Stay to the plains
My fellow distant travellers
Feel the sky, like a jacket
Sun and Moon your heart and mind
