I Saw Her First Poem by Dean Meredith

I Saw Her First

Keep the dream
Lovely thing
You both so noble
And deserving

A litany of clasps
A few gods before her
Sacred at a glance
So yesterday

She's out & about
In the countryside
Trees bend & sway
Before her

Old trees
With old desires
She waves them in
To a parking location

Just one of the hired help
You know
Cuteness & hard work
It gets a girl quite far

He's everything
She's forgotten
City dances
The country moves

Utes & kangaroos
And guns & dreams
And football on weekends
Her mending my seams
