I Remember The Days Poem by Thomas Koron

I Remember The Days

Rating: 3.5

[Randolph's aria from 'Duke Randolph']

I remember the days!
When we were both younger than now!
She held me so close,
And danced in her silken white gown!
We laughed in the rain,
And played in the valleys of life!
But, oh, alas!
Time has now turned the tides,
And I wonder if she loves me still!
These winds feel so cold,
And my tears are all cast way down into the sea!

And so, here I am wondering!
Where have those days now gone?
They drifted away from us!
Never to return again!

There was a time
When we still lived free from the world.
All through the night,
We were peacefully dreaming away.

I cannot forget the past.
Life seems so bleak without her!
There must be some way to rejoice once again.
It's time to relive those days we once shared.

I remember the days!
Of love with a promised return!
Before our farewell,
We wept for the days spent apart!
The time has now come!
For this is my voyage back home!
How could those days have slipped so far away?
I remember the days!
