I Run Through The World Poem by Justin Zahn

I Run Through The World

I run through the world,
time drifting like sand,
searching for myself
throughout all the land.

What would appear to be it;
was only a hoax.
As my search continued
slowly losing hope.

Along the way I saw
some interesting things
different lifestyles
and identities.

One was a writer,
Oh how that seemed to fit,
but soon lost its meaning
as I grew tired of it.

Next was a married man
with a life of much wealth
but soon lost its touch
For my wife lost her health.

Soon turned to a widower
with my wife’s painful pass
Again I lost myself
not long did it last.

Till one day I sat dying,
without knowing who I was.
Identity not found
or never had one.

Who was I?
the writer or married man?
or perhaps the widower
or this old dying man?

Who was I?
If anyone at all,
Till realized I did,
that I had been them all.
