I Shall Overcome Poem by Tommy R. Wigington

I Shall Overcome

Though now I am weak, this vessel of clay.
I shall overcome, even though I pass away.
For I do believe in God's One Only Son.
So when this body dies I shall still overcome.
And God is my creator His promise will be kept.
He will not forsake me nor will He forget.
And God has so said about Jesus The Christ.
Whosoever believe in Him shall have eternal Life.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
I wrote this poem about a week before I had to have surgery on my neck, to fix a break that was unsurvivable without surgery. I thought I might die during the procedure but The Lord has more for me to do down here I guess.

Beautiful poem and I'm glad you came through your surgery. I'm glad you dealt with your fear through a poem that brought you through!
