I’d write you a symphony
But I don’t do music, that’d be a lie
I’d take you to the moon in May
But I don’t have wings and I can’t fly
I shall write you a love poem

I’ll dedicate my verse to your face
To your eye, how it flickers and twinkles
I’ll recite your mouth, your lips that captivate
Your face, like an apple so smooth without wrinkles
I shall write you a love poem

I shall liken your beauty to a budding flower
And talk about your graceful figure
How it pulls many and makes them cower
I’ll trace your shape with my finger and let it linger
I shall write you a love poem

From the bedrocks of your heart gushes a hot spring
Seeping through me it sweeps my pain away
From your very bosom your beauty does spring
Were you a day you’d be Sunday
So serene and beautiful, like a flower in spring

Yes my heart shall recite
And talk about your unfailing love
Like an October sun it blazes and shines
Illuminating that heart of yours, my cave
Where I seek refuge from foxes and briers

And my heart shall recite
It’ll talk about your heart, that crucible
Which contains it and will recount
How missing you makes me critical
