I Stand, I Kneel, I Prostrate Poem by Mohammad Younus

I Stand, I Kneel, I Prostrate

I stand, I kneel, I prostrate,
Beneath your extensive throne,
Your joyful and beautiful music
Resonates in my eyes,
And with your fresh and fresher light,
You delight me with your knowledge divine
Pearl after pearl,
You add to my collection of wisdom.

You whisper in my heart the hidden secret,
About your blessed presence in me and all around,
And advise me not to wander from pillar to post,
In the spiritual quest.
I Am nearer to you than your jugular vein.
And when My servants ask you, concerning Me,
Indeed I am near.
You are my secret, I am your secret,
But even so my mind sees no reason,
In pursuing this tantalizing secret.
But my heart coos to my self,
Thou art from the True God,
Fly high and know thy True being,
The mind shakes its head,
Immune to the heart's gentle pleas,
It is still cautious, and replies 'oh, but how? '
