I Still Standing Poem by Guadalupe martinez

I Still Standing

Rating: 0.5

You give me wings
Then you cut them deep
You say you like me
But I guess I guess you didn’t finish you sentence
“I’d like to hurt you”
And so you do
Why? What did I did to you?
I shouldn’t ask
Because I didn’t do anything
Pearce my heart
Break me down
A least you try
But I still up
Dry my hope
And break it bad
And I will still stand up with a knife in my hand
Breaking the promise I once made
Blood running out of my veins
I’m helping you
I’m destroying me
Because I care more about you
Than I do about me …
I hand you my knife
I offer you my hand
Go on cut it deeper
Make me bleed, wish to die
Because
I’m standing waiting
While you press the knife
It goes deep
Piercing my skin
I see red blood being spill
And you smile
Go on
Slow and deep keep cutting
I’m yours
I’m your broken toy
Lifeless, hopeless
You keep on cutting deeper
But I still was standing…
You may break me down
If that’s all you wanted
You may Pearce my heart
Or a least try
Because I’m much more
Than meet the eye.
