I taught myself to cry,
a heart that could not speak,
would mourn the loss for words,
and portraits of the weak.
Myself, I taught to fly,
a small finch in a creek,
to soar with faithful birds,
with flowers in their beaks.
I taught myself to love,
the stranger deep inside,
like fainting stars above,
where angels do abide.
