I Think We Would Be A Bestselling Novel Poem by Mary Jesusa Villegas

I Think We Would Be A Bestselling Novel

I think we would be
a bestselling novel
You and I
You, the persistent
But I, the hesitant
at first
Let's see?

I think you would dig me up
You would fill me up
But I won't let you
at first
I would love to
But I resist the thirst.

I, the hesitant
I think I should push you away
Mom and sister-twin
told me yesterday
You know what happened to our family
And I don't want to repeat the history.

And then comes the twists and turns
And the fire of love in you still burns
But I will shut my door
Yet I wait for your return

I'd like to turn every page slowly
I'd like to read every word carefully.

Then the world would not believe
in a love like this
And I would just stay quiet
Can someone save me
Please?

I'd like to wait until the climax
and wait for the day for this book
to crack.

You and I
would be a bestselling novel
If you and I
But no one could ever tell
except the author above
Who writes very well.
