I Thought I Knew You Poem by Time and Time Again

I Thought I Knew You

In the shrimmering rips of the moonlight,
I thought of our beautiful friendship,
The special bond we had with each other,
Now broken,
Covered by clouds,
Never to be seen again.

High hopes flying,
Hoping that you will be there for me,
Hoping that things will resume to what it was before,
But it did not,
It was too late,
Too hard.

I thought I knew you,
I thought you'll always trust me,
Always love me,
Always encourage me,
Always be my friend,
Perhaps I was wrong.

You left my world,
Without a word,
Wihtout a trace of regret,
Without a tear of lost.

I left your world,
Heart shattered,
Crying horribly,
But still you did not turn to look at me.

I've tried to put the past behind me,
But memories flood my mind,
You have been the one I regret losing,
The one I want so much,
The one I loved so dear.

I thought I knew you,
But we still drifted apart,
Mountains and sea dividing us,
But you will always be in my heart,
Will I be in yours?
