I Tried, I Did, I'M Gone Poem by Frankie Bragg

I Tried, I Did, I'M Gone

I tried to mend the fences, and close the distance.
That seperated you from me.
I TRIED
I tried to forgive you, while you hurt me intentionally.
Waiting on me to fail, instead of comforting me.
I TRIED
I tried to forget the past, and start anew.
Even though your mindframe remained the same.
I TRIED
I DID FORGIVE
I DID HEAL FROM THE PAIN
I DID WANT A RELATIONSHIP
That built me up and not tore me down.
I DID
Sometimes you have to sever the ties.
That binds you with burdens much too heavy and strong.
When you see that a person or people.
Repeatedly show you negative actions.
Never admitting to any wrongs.
I deserve to be happy.
I deserve peace in my life.
I deserve to surround myself,
with people that GIVE, not TAKE life.
WAIT.......TURN UP THE RADIO
'I LOVE THAT SONG, WHAT IS IT CALLED? '
I TRIED, I DID, I'M GONE.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
I wrote this poem because I got to a point in my life where I was allowing some family members and so-called friends to keep me on this merry-go-round cycle that was only resulting in me frustrasted and hurt. So I severed the ties with those peple and I have experienced freedom and peace ever since. There just are some people that when you want to move on with your life keep you in the past, and you can't grow like that. If you want to suceed in anything in life you have to be free and light enough to fly and excel.
