I Tried To Change Poem by Vera Sidhwa

I Tried To Change

I Tried to Change

I tried to turn the car around,
That drove on the freeway.
I tried to wipe the smog off,
The otherwise azure environment.

I tried to turn the greyish water,
Blue and green once again,
And turn the blackened sidewalks,
White again.

But I just couldn't do it.
The intensity of the pollution,
Was too much for me.
So in the meantime,
I imagined a beautifully clean world.
