I'Ve Had To Be Your Father Poem by Jeff Fleischer

I'Ve Had To Be Your Father

Rating: 5.0

I've had to be your father
For quite some time.
It's unfortunate that life has been unkind.
Dad is gone and now I'm the man of the house.
Mom doesn't desire another spouse.
I know you were used to viewing me
Only as your brother.
Now our relationship is quite another.
It pains me when I have to discipline you,
Like dad used to do.
I've tried to minimize these times
To only a few.
I know you wish so much
That dad would come back.
Believe me, you're not the only one.
My dear brother Jack.
