I Waited For You Poem by Collette Y Anderson Williams

I Waited For You

They say that time flies
When you're having fun.
Time flew, but there was no fun
While I waited for you.

The moments became days,
The days - weeks,
The weeks - months,
Still I waited for you.

I longed to be held by you,
To be touched by you.
I missed your sweet voice -
That is why I waited for you.

Now that you're here,
I wonder, "Would I dare
To tell you just how much I care? "
Yes, this is why I waited for you!
