I Walk Slowly Home From Shul Holocaust Commemoration Day 5776 2016

I WALK HOME SLOWLY FROM SHUL HOLOCAUST COMMEMORATION DAY 5776 2016

I walk home slowly from Shul
Heavily
A day of remembrance
But who can possibly remember
So much suffering pain death humiliation?
I wasn't there was I?
We as a people have survived
It is true -Israel is a miracle
Who would have believed after all that
There would be this?
But the weight is still there the burden
The remembering that can truly bring no one back
And stop the sufferings that truly were
We will all be gone one day
But Israel is here
That is the consolation
This day of my mother's yahrtzei
Holocaust commemoration day in Israel
Here.
