I Want The Truth Before I Do Poem by Silence Dogood

I Want The Truth Before I Do

Theres always one problem with a lie.
Sometimes they make people cry.
A little truth is not so bad.
When lies is all youve had.
The truth may hurt it may cause pain.
It can give you guilt it can cause you shame.
But in the end honesty is all you'll need.
I want the truth when you say you love me.
I dont want a fling a dont want a lie.
I dont even care if it'll make me cry.
I just want to know if what you say is true.
I want the truth before I say I do.
Because sometimes a lie can cause the worst hearbreak.
When you walk away I count the steps you take.
Cause each step is the proof of a lie.
Each step is one last goodbye.
In front of the podium you coudnt be true.
You couldnt love me as I loved you.

There was a line in there I recongnized from Avril Lavigne. 'When you walk away I count the steps you take.' Correct me if I'm mistaken. Still a magnificent write. Keep it up girl! Peace out, Lexi Baby.
