I Want To Know, Would You? Poem by Sharon Matendechere

I Want To Know, Would You?

If I were leaving on the next train,
Knowing I would be back again,
I want to know, would you miss me?

If I went out on a mission,
Where guns sing morn' to morn',
I want to know, would you pray for me?

If I was a social reject,
And my name was at hate,
I want to know, would you still love me?

If my plane was to dive,
Not knowing if i'm alive,
I want to know, would you cry for me?

If I was claimed a most wanted,
And my death was intended,
I want to know, would you trust me?

In this world cruel and cold,
Evil people are strong and bold,
I want to know would you defend me?

I have a few deep secrets,
Those i've told have been total regrets,
I want to know, would you be trustworthy?

If thy answer to all this is yes,
And thou knoweth thy words honest and true,
Then I pray the Lord will keep thee and bless,
For I am sure thou art love me and I do thee too.
