I Will Always Remember Poem by Francis Duggan

I Will Always Remember

I will always remember the friends I have known
Though in distance and years apart from them I've grown
They are happy at home I went to live elsewhere
I will always remember my friends over there.

Old friends from our young years we always recall
Together we grew up, played sports and football
They've got on with their lives in life they've done fine
And their life journey one might say different to mine.

Not all of my old friends in their home Parish did stay
The wanderlust in them for places far away
But the clock kept on ticking our youth did not last
And the present only matter the past is the past.

I will always remember the people I knew
And though a different lifestyle we all did pursue
I often do stroll back down memory lane
And in fancy I visit the Hometown again
