I wish I were able to say,
That everything is ok,
But such a liar I shall not be,
I am miserable, alone and depressed.
I wish an angel could come to me,
Guide my way, show me my path,
I am lost in the darkness of my heart,
I need the hope of thine light.
I wish I could believe in my own lie,
Or be fooled by my own pretence,
Yet I know better than that,
Without you, I am an empty shell.
I wish I could die,
My soul needs to escape,
Yet I don’t regret a thing,
If I did, I wouldn’t suffer like this.
I wish my smile could haunt you,
And my voice could soothe you,
Yet I know that’s impossible,
Of me, you don’t want to hear.
I wish I could see you more often,
These random encounters will never be enough,
Yet I am thrilled to see your smile,
Even if it is once in a while.
I wish you could read these words,
Of love and devotion to you,
Then you could realize,
I am not evil, I’m just me.
I wish I were of stone,
As many believe I am,
But I am not; I am sensible and afraid,
Afraid of life, afraid of myself.
I wish I stopped wishing all of this,
It just makes the wound deeper than it is,
Yet I can’t, can’t live without you,
Oh my life, be happy, be always true,
Don’t forget that, you’re you.
