I Wo'Nt Look Back Poem by Edwina Reizer

I Wo'Nt Look Back

I need to take a bus, a train
or maybe a jet airplane
to go where I can't see you.
For I can't remain
in this place where I'd see you
every once in a while,
and think about the chance you blew
to walk me down the aisle.

So I won't look back
'cause I'll only come up aching.
No I won't look back
and let my heart keep breaking
No, I won't ever look back.

So many promises, so many words
that put me on cloud nine
all came crashing down on me
for those words were never mine.
How many girls had you said them to?
Five or six or seven?
I guess you put them on cloud nine
and a little piece of heaven.

I need to get my self-worth back
and get myself back on track.
So I'll take a trip to a faraway place,
a place where I can't see your face.
Only time will bring release
and make this ache start to cease.
'Cause I can make it without you
no matter what I have to do.

A broken heart takes time to mend
and let the memories fade.
Then I will find the sun again
and walk out of this shade.
And as I leave I won't look back
even though my tears will flow.
I know it's the right thing for me to do,
wherever I might go.

So I won't look back
'Cause I'll only come up aching.
No I won't look back
and let my heart keep aching.
No I won't ever look back.
