I Won't Poem by Marcquiese Burrell

I Won't

I always thought we'd be fine
But that was in a different life
Gave you the type of love you had wanted
It wouldn't be enough to stay on it
You would've followed the lines
A screenwriter designed
I was so hooked, can't deny it
What you sold, I'd no longer buy it.

Gotten tired of trying, It was clear
Love no longer had lived here
Night would dawn and you're elsewhere
Woke myself from this nightmare
It's days until the established deadline
When the paper runs the story to be headlined
Told you i was fine,
keep all your sorries,
you'll feel it later in time.
I couldn't love someone
Who would just treat me bad
Goodbye is all i have
As i gift to give.
You think i love you still
I'll keep on coming back
But i won't, i won't

How did you think it will work?
If you weren't feeling the hurt
You wouldn't see it how I do
When your eyes is
set on something new
You use to be about us
Them days when you've had my trust
You knew your heart wasn't in it
It's why you can't be committed
