I Wonder If Shakespeare Poem by Francis Duggan

I wonder if Shakespeare was living today
Would he look at life in a different way
In literary circles would he win esteem
And would he write Macbeth and a Mid-summer's night dream? .

I wonder if Will Shakespeare lived in these times
Would he still write great plays and marvellous rhymes?
For literature nowadays is on the way down
And easier ways to fortune and renown.

If Shakespeare were living I wonder would he
Feel happy in this age of modern technology
Would he be Will Shakespeare the modern poet
And World famed playwrite and literary man of note? .

If Shakespeare the great poet were living today
In the Literary World would he still lead the way
Would he still be a hero amongst all of his peers?
But Shakespeare is dead for near four centuries of years.
