I Would That My Words



I would that my words be pleasing to God
The ear of the Lord who reigns from above
That the angels would guide now my pen
I ask thee O Lord, to help me teach love
Liken my words, Lord, to King David's psalms
That Solomon's prose would be my first guide
Now, as the time of my poem draws nigh
I ask that my Lord would stay by my side
