Ice Poem by Randy McClave

Ice

If ice came knocking at my door
I still wouldn't tell no more,
With the immigrant of course I would be siding
I wouldn't tell them where they were hiding.
No matter what they do or say,
I wouldn't be giving them or their whereabouts away.

If ice told me to turn any immigrant in
Including any and all children, women and men,
I wouldn't ever do that unholy task
Even if they ordered me or did politely ask.
No matter of the threats or the mayhem,
I still wouldn't be surrendering any of them.

If ice threatened and did scream and yell
I still wouldn't tell,
If they asked or commanded me to tell where the immigrants are
From the command's of a dictator, a king or a czar.
No matter what they might say or do,
Where they are hiding, Ice will not be given a clue.

I don't care if they are maga or Ice
On my soul or on any others there is no cost price,
I would do as my grandparents had once done
When their moment came underneath the sun.
When the government came to their door about their views,
They never turned in the Jehovah Witnesses, Homosexuals, Gypsy's or the Jews.

If Ice came to my house carrying all invoices
Showing me the immigrants costs and all my choices,
Unlike Judas's belief on others there is no price tag
That is an oath and a promise and not a brag.
Immigrants are not vermin or diseased or sinful or an enemy,
This of course is not 1934 Nazi Germany.
