Ice Blue Eyes Poem by Joseph Narusiewicz

Ice Blue Eyes

Blue gold idol the dream of Homer
Her elegant words of myrrh
I come from the highlands of myth
Reality becomes a woman with ice blue eyes
Captive and ablaze by her white pale skin
Dark hair of a muse sired in moonlight
Logic revels with voices of sanity
Sanity defined by those without passion
Passion must have idolatry
She enchants me and warns of fire
I hear thunder like Athena moaning
Climb the stairs of addiction
Some have edges of butter knives
Her stiletto heels around my neck

The moon glows like a cruel jewel
She is magnificence
Luminous prophecy of inner warmth
Tenderness is a whip of Aphrodite
Ye that enter here shall be punished
Goddess with sirens of Ulysses
Flowers lay on Keats grave
Silk waters as golden as Rome
Pagan orchids strewn with bells
Sweet tinkling bells of the nippled night
Her garter belts as wet as the sea
Night brings wolves of pleasure
My muse enters deep into dusky dreams
Her Ice blue eyes make the lions bleed
