Identity Poem by April Humason

Identity

Rating: 5.0

In a world where wicked eyes poison beauty's grace,
Beware the whispers of insecurities that they embrace.
For a touch of vanity can bring forth deadly venom's sting,
Threatening to taint the loveliest with a bitter zing.

They sniff out individuality, seeking to steal what you hold dear,
To taste the essence of your uniqueness, to them, it's so clear.
Undressing your soul within their corrupt minds they roam,
Seeking to pilfer your originality, as they hide their own.

In the shadows, they scheme, with self-loathing they align,
Positioning themselves to mimic you, they define.
But don't let them infect your identity, stand tall and true,
For your authenticity is what makes you beautiful, through and through.

Embrace the essence of who you are, and let it shine,
Let your light illuminate the darkness, a glow divine.
For no one else can be you, and that's your power,
Own your identity, for it's your most precious flower.

Amidst their envious eyes and deceiving arts,
Hold fast to your inner self, where greatness starts.
Let their attempts to clone you fall in vain,
For your unique soul will forever remain.

So rise above their envy, and let your beauty soar,
In a world of imitation, be the one they adore.
Cherish your identity, and don't let it be stolen,
For in the tapestry of life, you're a masterpiece, golden.
