Identity Change Poem by Theresa Ann Moore

Identity Change

Are you happy living in an aquarium?
Do you do acrobatics when you swim
Winter, summer, fall, and spring…
Do you wish that your fins were wings

No longer confined in a glass prison
free to fly among the clouds that glisten
Once out of water you must grow feathers...
in order to endure inclement weather

The spaciousness of being free to choose
opens up a whole new world to peruse
