If All Humanity/Will One Day Die Poem by Shalom Freedman

If All Humanity/Will One Day Die

Rating: 5.0

If everyone we care about
If all we love
If all humanity
Will one day
Certainly die
Then why are we not in grief
And personal sorrow now?

Why doesn't humanity mourn
Its own almost certain extinction?

Why doesn't humanity mourn
Deeply for itself?

Why isn't everyone else so
Frequently sad
Thinking of the end
As I am?
