If Colors Exist Poem by Vartika Pandey

If Colors Exist

Some eyes behold, some deject
All likelihood that colors exist.

Black takes no other hue.
Rainbows do not shine, for ones
Abstaining from light of the day
Some know, only of black and grey as
Colors or far from perception of colors
Like lament lays far from music.

If, in some world, colors exist
I wish them all on your canvas.
Why only crimson and maroon?
Please fall in love with yellow
And green and soon
You’ll know that maybe
Colors exist, sometimes.

The dark ones meant for you
Must come into my land of blue
As they resemble a color, at least
And black takes no other hue.

Let me shed some colorless tears
There’s a wall I made
I can’t let you break
To destroy your colors
If colors exist

If a drop of my gloom can defile your entire magnificence,
Then all your colors compiled cannot make me vibrant.

Colors do exist, exist in glory
Exist for the surreal you.
Here, rainbows do not shine.
Black takes no other hue.
