If I Could - Poem by Michael P. McParland

If I could give you the world
on a silver platter I would.
If I could reach into the sky
and gather every star just for you I would.
I would present you with dozens of
beautiful flowers every day
that we live If I could.

I would bare all of your pain in
every single way If I could.
I'd take all of your worries
and fears to make them no more
If I could.

If I could I would shower you
in all of your earthly desires
until they were fulfilled.
If I could I'd compose you
the greatest symphony that
has ever been written.
I would write a true novel
about the epic amount of
love that we share.
Yet I cannot do those things
because they are not in my talents.
What I can do though counts
for much more.

I will always give you all of my love.
Be faithful to you in every way.
Give you my best in heart,
body, mind, and all the rest in full.
I will help carry you through all the
difficult times.
Take care of you when you're
sick or in pain,
I will give you all of my time
because you are my Queen whom I long to serve.
I will give you my life forever as well as
everything that I have and I am.
If you'll just trust me take a leap of faith
and give me your hand
I'll prove to you that
I am worthy of your hand.
