If I Knew Poem by Cory Jensen

If I Knew

Rating: 5.0

If I knew that you were drawing your last breath
I would be at your bedside.
Holding your hand in my hands,
Letting you know everything is all right.
If I knew that your heart was breaking
I would catch each piece that flew.
Put them all back together
Cup them in my hands; give your heart back to you
If I knew you were bleeding from your soul
I would count each dropp as my own.
Each second you get weaker; I will be your strength.
Lean on me; I'll give you faith.
If I knew you were letting the world go
I would wrap you in my arms and hold you close
We'll take this World by surprise
You just have to hold on tight.
If I knew you will be lost to time
I would whisper 'I love you' to dry your tears.
Don't you worry, I'll always be with you.
Forever in your heart, I'll stay.
But if only I knew.
If I only knew...

Indeed if we only knew. We all would love that. To have someone there for you no matter what would be amazing. For you to love someone that much you would do all that for them is truly what love is about. a neverending emotion that spreads its wings everywhere.

Oh my...this one really touched my heart. For I know, we are all born to die. That life is a precious gift that does not last forever. That tomorrow is never promised. So I have learned...that we must live each moment in the moment, never let a chance go by to tell the ones we love how much they mean to us. Thank you for this heartfelt poem Cory.
