If I Owned A Boat. Poem by Aryn James

If I Owned A Boat.

Rating: 5.0

If I owned a boat I would travel to the deepest depths and beyond,
To the places of complete solitude,
To the places where I'm alone and no one can find me,
An infinite game of hide and seek if you will.

To wake in the morning with the dull gray skies,
To sit on the deck in the sun, and watch it make an appearance, then set.
To hear the waves or the complete silence,
To see life with out the cover of reality,
To see it bare and in front of you.

If I owned a boat I would find islands and name them after the ones I love,
To travel on foot all day, to find traces of other humanity,
To see that we have different sides then the one we pose daily.
Or even just to get lost with the sand and to let the tide carry me back to a place of serenity.

I would get lost on a daily basis.
I would throw the radio over board and the maps along too.
If one day I truly believe I have lost my way I would die peace fully with nature.
In the symphony of calmness and the harmonies of joy.

If I owned a boat, I would bring you along.
To have you be my first mate.
To have you argue with me about which course we would take.
To have you be the right hand man on the adventure of life.

Oh, if only I owned a boat.

This is a very unique writing. It is extremely creative. It comes from idealism and the righteous heart. The best places for the origin of all things. I gave this a 10. GW62
