If I Say Poem by Shalom Freedman

If I Say

IF I SAY

If I say, “I am a poet who has been where no other poet has ever been before'
If I say “What I have seen and said, no one else has ever begun to dream”
If I proclaim aloud all my great and unrealized Ambition
What will it mean and why should it mean more than it never has?

Oh words oh words oh words
Oh nonsense I am
And smaller than the smallest sound no one near or far
Has never heard.

We as humans always tend to put ourselves on a pedestal. Let others praise our works and then we can accept it with gratitude and not self satisfaction. Action speaks louder than words. A nice write.
