If I Were Poem by Daniel Miltz

If I Were

As light as a feather
I would flyaway, loose in the sky
In wayfaring eagerness
That would genuinely bring
A swirling airiness
Set upon my shimmering wings

While I am flickering high above
Gleaming over treetop groves
Being conspicuous all over the place
Afterwards, landing in the grounds of
Flowery garden pathways
I would strike a decorative embrace

Then as the day ends
Along with being totally transcendent
Flapping in the air astray
Winging off far away
To an angelic sky way
I realize, I am a soaring butterfly
