If I Were A... - Poem by Geneen Meyers

If I were a boy, what would I feel?
Bullied all day, that's a big deal
If I were a tree, I'd be so tall
I'd feel like I'm a solid wall

If I were a ball I'd be so fat
And I'll be hit if I were a baseball bat
So red I'll be if I were a cherry
I delicious to be a juicy berry

If I were a toy, it would be so fun
They'd come to the store for a special toy run
Someone will buy me if I were a shoe
He'd run a mile for an hour or two

If I were the sun, I'd be so hot
So small I'd be if I were a dot
There's a lot of things that I could be
But I prefer being simply me
