If I Were Judged Poem by Randy McClave

If I Were Judged

If I were judged by the color of my skin
I'd be judged for all hate and sin,
If I were judged by the color of my hair
Forgiveness I would ask for in a prayer.
If I were judged for the color of my eyes
I'd be judged for all deceit and lies,
If I were judged by the color of my teeth
Forgiveness of the pain I would bequeath.
If I were judged by the color my clothes
Many would have an offensive nose,
If I were judged by the color of my outer looks
Awfulness would be seen and read in many books.
When it is time for me to be judged
About my outer appearance I won't be grudged,
Happily I'll be judged by the color of my soul
I won't be heading to Sheol.
