If I Were Visible Poem by Braden Patton

If I Were Visible

Im not much of a man, but I could be one for you.
I can’t see very well, but my reasons are true.
If you needed me to save you, I’m sure that I would.
But if I cant, please don’t think I’m no good.

I struggle with the cold and I can’t keep warm.
But if you desired I’d keep you dry through a storm.
My record is weak and not too impressive.
My past is dark and a little obsessive,
But I’d mend it for you if you wanted;
I’d save you if you felt lost or haunted.

If you don’t know what to say, then I’ll understand.
Im not much of a soldier and much less a man.
But if you would take the time to look a little harder
Maybe you’d see that my intentions go farther,
Than just a passing glance and a crooked smile,
Maybe your time spent on me would be worthwhile.
Maybe the tears you sometimes cry
Wouldn’t seem so bad if you only knew why.

And if you don’t want me then send me away.
Just know that I can’t let go another day,
Without you knowing how much I’d do;
That every breathe I breathe is for you.

Reads as smoothly as a Rolls...and would warm the cockles of many hearts!
