They say love is red, like rose petals scattered in bed
But one says it's blue, like bright skies above our head,
And love is somewhat green with a tinge of yellow
Emerging from the ground like dandelions in the meadow
Love is the sunset with orange and a tint of pink
It is swaying hands under the stars that blink
In a button down suit and a lovely purple dress
And hearts beating fast with every heartfelt caress
But love isn't red when rain starts to pour
When blue turns into black and thunders roar
And love isn't yellow, or purple or green
It is both bliss and gloom and everything in between
We recognize love only when it's sunny and bright
But love isn't flowers on a romantic moonlit night
Love is holding your hand, in the midst of a storm
Because love is love in any shade and form
Love is not letting the other suffer from the cold
It is staying intact when adversities start to unfold
Because love is red and sometimes black
But when love leaves, it will always come back
The color of love comes in different shades
Its tone may change but it never fades
Love is a canvas covered in colorful hue
With a noteworthy tale narrated from a painter's view
