Do the waves crashing make my picture fade
into the blue hues of the ocean,

Have I failed
let down who I was
Put up an act
Are lies all that is left?

Did I already lose you
To what you think you should be
Or are you already lost
In all that you feel
...

The tears that won't run down
my cheeks
Corrupt my veins
Until they beg to leak
...

I'm not okay, not tonight
not this morning, nor last night
I couldn't sleep, I don't know why
I might have possibly lost my mind
...

Three cups of coffee but I'm not ready to die
Three cups of coffee yet I'm still not crying
True, my eyes are salty
a fact I can't deny
...

You're just a mistake
waiting to happen
staying in place at the end of the
line
...

My mind is on fire thinking of you
One hand fluttering at my thighs
The other pressed against mine
What more to do
...

You watch me
deliberately not blinking your eyes
as I squirm under the weight of a world of which I can't be set free
as everything precipitately slides
