If our country was really Christian
We wouldn't have the needy and the poor,
Unto Jesus our politicians would only listen
Then in our country they're be hunger no more.
If our country was indeed Christian
If from the Bible they did follow and read,
Then they would stand against all sin
Then in our country there would be no evil and greed.
If our country was faithfully Christian
Then we'd love our neighbors to the left and right,
We wouldn't joyfully send them to prison
Against them we would not argue or fight.
If our country was absolutely Christian
We wouldn't have a hateful and deceitful heart and mouth,
Love, peace and brotherhood would be our heavenly mission
We'd respect our friends to the north and south
If our country was genuinely Christian
Then our leader would not be a president, but a pastor,
Helping and caring for others would be our country's mission
As we would follow Jesus, our Lord and master.
If our country was honestly Christian
For protection we would never need a rifle or a gun,
Our souls would truly glisten
As our protection would be from the father's son.
If our country was undoubtedly Christian
Then we wouldn't have millionaires or billionaires,
Homelessness and starvation would not be a condition
As for the unfortunate we would help and care.
If our country was truly Christian
If we truly followed the path of our Lord Christ,
Love, care and brotherhood would be spoke by every politician
Sadly instead, our leaders takes the devil's advice.
