If Solomon Could Be Here Poem by Kofi Acquah

If Solomon Could Be Here

Rating: 5.0

Till the outstretched vein becomes elastic;
Till the weak vein becomes energetic
Till the begger ride and smile on horses______

Day and night threatens his soul
with mirages
Mirages of one he fantasized to be a sword
That might cut across his voice box______

He feeds on the tortoise shell
Though as hard as a rock
So has he now become a despot?
For that remains to him
The illusion of his jaw might become strong!

From a darkness sack of guile
Tied to his back,
Multiplies the master's gain!
For the works of the flesh are plain
That as the victim gains fame
His endowed internal pleasures
Bow to a standing shame!

If Solomon Could Be Here
POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
This piece talks about the trauma one faces before his light shines and then he rests. So he strives hard to success..During this tussling, he might even end up becoming a despot..However, the title says that, if Solomon could be here, He would intensify the truth of the matter so that, you would know what I'm saying is true.
