The Silenced Throat Before The Truth Poem by Kofi Acquah

The Silenced Throat Before The Truth

Rating: 4.8

Licking the fingers of red oil and salt.
Wearing his canvas without socks,
So I saw him go for greener pastures abroad,
With no passport_____

Fire is set in the armpit hair of the man
Who outstretches his hand
Across the blazing fire to taste the milk of giants!

Oh! Mama could have controlled!
But his wings were tough enough__
His words flamed higher on coals
As his stories were hot enough
To be told_____

Then I saw him for once;
When he got stuck under a heaped sacks
In the travel sea house
That he pounced on fallen food in silence
Till the unfortunate gate
Fortunately denied his fate!

For twice I saw him face the question;
(Are you sure you're secured?)
But his tongues had been fortified
By the gods of the red shrine!

Till an hour to see new lights,
I never located him again
And then all screamed for mercy
But the law forfeits not
Till it fulfills!
That he now takes the path of a dungeon
A hole of no return!
The path that makes a heart beats!

Take heart! Take heart!
For he's swallowed by the sea!

I sing from this school of overdosed confidence
A song to attracts two heads from the village
A song to call grandpa to sit the little ones
By the fire
Yes! I speak of the ancient stone age man's fire
And then show them the grains of our land!

Lovely narrative poem on economic adventure embarked upon by one seeking for green pasture oversea. A journey fraught with stumbling blocks, well articulated and nicely penned in poetic diction. A good poem indeed. Thanks for sharing. Please read my poem MANDELA - THE IMMORTAL ICON.
