If You All Talk I Pretend I Can't Hear Poem by Peter Mamara

If You All Talk I Pretend I Can't Hear

by M. Eminescu (1850-1889)

If you all talk, I pretend that I can't hear,
I don't say no, and I don't praise you.
You all dance how you want.
I don't yell at you, nor do I clap.
No one can make me follow his flute.
My destiny is to search for the truth
— Only into my heart.
