If You'Re A Martyr Poem by Patti Masterman

If You'Re A Martyr

If you're a martyr, they'll put your picture online-
If you're a Rachel from Columbine;
If you're a Rachel from the Gaza Sinai-

If you're a martyr, they'll put their hands in your side;
Expect you to change water to wine.
If you're a martyr, on your wounds they'll dine-
Don't name your daughters Rachel you should not ask why.

If you're a martyr, they'll put your whole life in print-
Like papyrus tombs; like the scrolls intent,
From Caesar to the Christians; and the curtain's rent-

If a Mary or a Peter, everywhere he went-
Washing Jesus feet while all his blood was lent

And all the airborne angels then would greatly lament
Don't name your children Jesus- they will not relent-

Yes, the world has brought their vilest scorn for all these years and the worst they could do was kill his body, which didn't last. Then they kill his followers who dared hang their hopes on him sending them straight to his loving arms. Over the top hilarious when you realize people who attack him today are the irreligious and all he ever whipped was the self-righteous ogres that they claim to hate. Even if they don't believe him he should be hailed as one of their own. love, Kyle
