Illicit Affairs Poem by Anisha Nyambe

Illicit Affairs

Rating: 5.0

secretly,
she sneaks out with lamp in hand.
endlessly,
the rain pours on her land.
pitifully,
she's soaked and has a cold.
beautifully,
the rain makes her look twice as old.
ruefully,
she walks back to the house.
seemingly,
she creeps in like a mouse.
shockingly,
she sees her dad on the stairs.
tirelessly,
she has abandoned her illicit affairs.
