Im Sorry Skittles Poem by Noah Shaw

Im Sorry Skittles

There was a boy who had a crush,
On a girl he knew so well,
They laughed and talked together,
But there was something he couldn't tell.

He liked her more than friendship,
But he kept it locked inside,
Until one day she told him
About the boy she liked.

We'll call that boy Skyscraper,
A name that fit somehow,
And when the boy heard about him,
Jealousy took over now.

So he told Skyscraper her secret,
Something he shouldn't have done,
And when the girl found out,
Her happiness came undone.

She felt so embarrassed,
Her trust was broken too,
And the boy realised too late
What jealousy could make him do.

He wished that he could take it back,
Erase that stupid day,
Because hurting his best friend
Wasn't worth it anyway.

She eventually forgave him,
And things began to mend,
But something stayed between them,
A feeling he couldn't end.

Because he still liked her deeply,
More than he could explain,
But after what had happened,
He couldn't face that fear again.

He wanted to say, 'I like you, '
He wanted to tell the truth,
But now he was more scared than ever,
And didn't know what to do.

He was scared of losing her,
Scared of ruining their friendship too,
Scared that telling her his feelings
Would make everything fall through.

So he kept it to himself,
The words locked in his heart,
Wondering if she could feel the same,
But too afraid to start.

She had forgiven his mistake,
And their friendship carried on,
But he still wished he could tell her
How he'd felt all along.

He made one mistake from jealousy,
And he'll never forget that day,
But the hardest part is knowing
He's too scared to tell her what he'd say.
