Images Of Loneliness - Poem by Abdul Wahab Sukhan

Beautiful landscape!
In perfect solitude of night
Lonely,
I see myself sitting by a seashore
with uneven beats of water..
In the middle of nowhere
Alone and forlorn
-
A lively cafeteria full of folks
Engrossed in loving discourses
And sharing all that
Can bring smiles and laughter
To their faces..
Aloof, I too am by a table of this cafeteria
Without a feel of anyone…
And the space across my table is vacant
Yeah, a vacant seat! -
--
In a market, full of crowd
I see folks shopping…
Checking out different malls
Reshuffling and browsing trendy items
I too am here just to take a glance of these
Lighted and alluring shops
Without anyone to stroll along
Without any one
To pull me lovingly by arms towards
these vogue shops..
--
In chilled nights of winter
With a cup of coffee
Self- prepared
Self- served
Sipping off the cup…. and brooding
A continual gaze
On the opposite wall..

Alone and forlorn…
