Imagination © Poem by Roann Mendriq

Imagination ©

Every child's imagination,
can take you to the stars;
Every thought an incantation,
with strong magical powers.

Children dream of splendid places,
of the most fantastic kind;
Beaches etched with funny faces,
with shells not hard to find.

Children wish for chocolate toys,
to be nibbled on in play;
A singing fish, dancing tortoise,
Flying birds fashioned out of clay..

If these far-fetched fantasies start,
and are given wings to fly;
A simple child-like happy heart,
will soar towards the sky.

Let us not be bound by dictation,
Let us not pause to discuss;
It's time we let imagination,
just run away with us...
